These terms apply to your use of fideforensic.org and to the services of Fide Forensic Foundation (“we”), a Section 8 not-for-profit in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. By using the website or submitting a case, you accept them. Please read them with our Privacy Policy.
1. Not legal advice
We are forensic scientists, not a law firm, and we do not hold a licence to practise law. Nothing on this website or in our documents is legal advice. Legal strategy remains with your advocate.
2. No promised outcome
We identify scientific and technical issues in forensic evidence. Whether a court accepts our findings, and what weight it gives them, is for the court.
3. How an engagement starts
Submitting a case is a request for an assessment. It is not an engagement. We may accept or decline a matter. Once we accept, we confirm the scope, the documents we will deliver and the timeline in writing.
4. Your responsibilities
When you send us material, you confirm that:
- You are entitled to share it
- Sharing it does not breach a court order or the law
- The information is accurate and complete
- You are sending it only for forensic review
5. Fees and legal aid
Private matters carry a standard fee, confirmed in writing before work begins. Legal aid matters are free, with no reduction in scope or scientific rigour.
6. Confidentiality
Every submission is treated as confidential. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
7. Ending an engagement
Either side may end an engagement by written notice. If we end one, we tell counsel promptly and return the case documents. No fee is due for work not delivered.
8. Website content
The text and material on this website belong to the Foundation and are protected by copyright. Please ask before reproducing them. Links to other websites are for reference; we are not responsible for their content.
9. Liability
We are responsible for delivering the services we confirmed in writing. We are not liable for the outcome of any proceeding, or for delays caused by events beyond our control. Nothing here limits liability that Indian law does not allow us to limit.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes fall under the courts at Hyderabad, Telangana.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, the updated version will appear on this page with a new date.
